The story and myth of Hades and Persephone. For some reason I am very fond of this story. It is always associated with terrible things, but to me I believe Hades is depicted the wrong way. He is not the representation of the Devil. He has the burden of looking after the dead, and being invisible to life on this world. The realm of Hades does not represent Hell, but the afterlife. Both Heaven and Hell. This story may be told as a one of evil deeds and selfishness, but I believe it is more beautiful than how it is told. It reminds me of the Phantom longing for Christine Daae. Maybe there is something wrong with me, but for some reason I would have willingly went with Hades or the Phantom. There is something entrancing and misunderstood about them that intrigues me. Both cast out from society and forced to live a life of solitude. Both wanting one person to look at them and see them differently than the cruel world does. If I were Persephone, I would have given everything to Hades, and lived my life to show him that there is Love beyond the realm of the living.
